Playstation Move Was "Not A Success"

Sony UK's VP and MD Fergal Gara has admitted that Sony's Playstation Move has not been a success.

Speaking to Official Playstation Magazine, Gara admitted that Sony have not provided enough quality titles for Playstation Move. Check out the statement below, taken from the interview.

“What I’m thinking is that it’s better suited towards the casual market, certainly, but we also are pretty clear that we could have done a better job on the titles we’ve had and we’ve brought to market for the PlayStation Move. As you’ve said, great tech, probably not so great applications so far. So there’s a job for us to do on the strength of games, and having seen what’s forthcoming gives me great hope that we can do a better job with Move as we look forward. So we’re certainly not forgetting about it.”

  1. Having had a Move (I won it about a year and a half ago online) and nearly a dozen games that supported it, I would have to agree with that assessment. It was fun, it is good tech - but with the Move it just felt like coming too late to the game, and so entirely optional that a lot of designers did nothing with it. When my primary PS3 broke down last year, my move components went toward replacing the system itself.

  2. Why am I not suprised? Using Nintendo technology without having a stable backlog of casual games.

    Their loss.

  3. I want to get a Move but not for lame arm flapping games. I just want it for all the House of the Dead games coming to the ps3. :D
